Transgender Health Care in Centre Wellington

June 30, 2020

June is Pride Month!

In 1971, roughly 100 people from Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto and the surrounding areas gathered in the pouring rain at Parliament Hill for Canada’s First Gay Liberation Protest and March. They presented a petition to the government with a list of ten demands for equal rights and protections. For more milestones in the history of Pride across Canada check out the Queer Events website.

Did you know that over the past 3 years, our affiliated physician Dr. Annie Lu, her nurse Amy Devonshire and recent addition Nurse Practitioner Kristin Johnson have been providing Transgender Health Care to over 70 patients? They provide assistance with Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), Gender Reassignment Surgery applications, name and gender change applications, as well as general health and well-being for the Transgender population. Interested in learning more about these services? Please contact your family doctor or Nurse Practitioner for a referral to Dr. Lu’s clinic.
